Powder spray booth robotization

SINDURA® has been convened by a renowned rim manufacturer to solve a problem with the high rejection of lacquered parts. Before the new solution was implemented, the customer painted the rims, arranged on a rack with 2 positions and 8 layers of parts, the application was with 2 automatic reciprocators and 5 guns per reciprocator, a total of 10. The application was not very uniform, distributed a layer of powder with high micrating on the rims closest to the guns and the central rims were left with a shortage of dust. No matter how much control was applied to the electrostatic guns, it was impossible to maintain uniformity on all the parts contained in the rack!

SINDURA®, with only experience in robotic processes and coating application, implemented a solution using two anthropomorphic robots, KUKA brand and 2 guns with angular nozzle. The reciprocators were removed, as well as the current guns, it was also necessary to change the current cabin to allocate the robots.

After programming, tuning and an intuitive interface for the operators, SINDURA® obtained the desired result, uniformity in the paint coat on all parts, 60µ (±5)! In addition to the uniform layer, dust consumption was reduced to less than half! The interface between the new solution and WAGNER's dust centre has allowed operators to manage dust easily and intuitively, with the possibility of quick colour changes and switching between recipes, depending on the type of parts!
